Frommer's Portable Maine Coast

Cafe This Way has the feel of a casually hip coffee house, and is much more airy than one might guess upon first looking at this cottage tucked on a side street across from the village green. Bookshelves line one wall, and there's a small bar tucked in a nook. The breakfasts are excellent and mildly sinful, with offerings like eggs Benedict with spinach, artichoke, and tomato. The red-skinned potatoes are crispy and delicious; the robust coffee requires two creamers to lighten it. Dinners are equally appetizing, with tasty dishes like butternut squash ravioli, crab cakes with a tequila-lime sauce, and filet mignon grilled with fresh basil. This is the kind of place I love, where they know how to do great things with relatively simple ingredients.
